Does the volunteering run all year round?

Yes. We take volunteers all year round for the gardening.

The cafe is open from March to October.

How old do you have to be to volunteer?

Gardening volunteers: under 16s need to be accompanied by an adult. Children can accompany adults but would need to be supervised at all times.

Cafe volunteers: we require cafe volnteers to be 15+

Do I need experience?

No, training/guidance will be provided for all roles.

Am I required to use the coffee machine to work in the cafe?

It is not a requirement to use the coffee machine to volunteer in the cafe. If you would like to we can provide training on the coffee machine, however it is not necessary for volunteering.

Do I need to bring anything with me?

No, you do not need to bring any equipment. If you are working in the garden be sure to wear suitable clothing.

Do you accept large volunteer groups?

Yes, we regularly have groups from various different companies come for corporate volunteer days.

We take a maximum of 12 volunteers at a time. To organise a volunteer group please email info@wwpf.uk.

How flexible are the working hours?

Shifts are given in the cafe on a first come first served basis. The shifts are from 11am till 3pm. There is a requirement to work a full shift but no requirement to work a set day every week.

The gardening shifts are on Thursday and Sundays, 9am till 12pm. There is no requirement to work a certain number of hours, or every week. You can sign up as and when you are available. You can cancel your shift if you sign up via the link on the volunteer page.
